Welcome to Wallington Wines
Margaret & Anthony Wallington, moved from Sydney in 1990 to escape the city life for the fresh country air. Over the next 10 years, in conjunction with raising 4 young daughters, Anthony and Margaret embarked on a dream of creating boutique wine.
A family owned, biodynamic & organic winery. Our wines are made from hand picked grapes, from vines that produce low yields of intensely flavoured fruit. The grapes are crushed and pressed in our straw bale winery. The juice then goes through a wild yeast fermentation giving the wines an individual quality. The reds are open vat fermented and basket pressed to mature in a variety of oak barrels for up to 2 years before being bottled. Passing through the family generation now, Margaret hands over the wine making to her third eldest daughter Nadja and her partner Steve. Together the family continues the unique brand of Wallington Wines.
At Wallington Wines, we are more than just a winery and vineyard. We use sustainable farming practices in all aspects of the farm including our sheep, cattle and cropping productions. The vineyard is worked via a system of careful biodynamic practices, to ensure a quality in our grapes strictly unique to our name. We invite group bookings or any travellers passing by to visit our cellar door winery and learn the art of wine making during various seasons of the year. We also cater for farm stays, lunches, dinners, private parties and wine tastings throughout the year as well as being heavily involved in local tourism events. Wallington Wines continue to be proud leaders in organic wine practices and being family owned, are proud supporters of small businesses of Australia. Come and experience being part of the family that is, Wallington Wines.
